Wanna have MORE icons at your disposal as a TRP2 user?

Salutations, everybody.
I tried to speak with Lixxel through the Private Message system of Curse.com, but as I got no answer, I tried to search for a forum that she might've made for this project, and I quickly found this place. When I wrote my original message, I didn't know that there was a new forum (because Telkostrasz decided to close his old forum, obviously).
Anyway, here I am with some sort of suggestion for you all. First, I'm gonna copy what I send to Lixxel :
I could make a version where you can read "TRP2" instead of just "RP". Would you like that?
One of the things I love to do with icons and TRP2, it's to choose the 'avatar' of my character and to create states and objects that I can share with everybody around me. With more icons, I could create more freely.
As I know my ways around Photoshop, I can make my own icons, and if some people ask for some specifics, I'm sure I can help.

At one point, I think I suggested to Telkostrasz to use the icon shown below to represent TRP2 instead of the 'seal' icon on the Minimap. I don't remember if he ever read the suggestion.I've developped a list of icons fairly wide for World of Warcraft, for which I'll leave you the URL below :

I wished to know if you'd be interested in integrating a part of my icons in your version of TRP2? I doubt that the integration of the whole thing would be wise, there must be over 2000 icons... I've lost count a long time ago. ^^"
It could be added as a optionnal mod to not overcharge everybody (with a special icon displayed for those who don't have the mod where the add-on uses an icon of the mod?), so that they may be usable in the states and player-avatars.
As an example, if you look at my icon list, you'll see books icons, and I'm sure that they could have a place in TRP2.
Furthermore, if you're interested, I could work for/with you (and those who're already helping you?) to create specific icons for the add-on, like the menus. TRP2 is still using a 'seal critter' icon, when it could have something way better!
Anyway, if you so desire, my humble digital-brush is at your service.

And just as I was writting that, I wanted to see what it could look like, so here are the first two versions I made. Watcha think?I could make a version where you can read "TRP2" instead of just "RP". Would you like that?
EDIT :
I'm also thinking that it could be super nice to make a conversion of the hero and units icons from Warcraft 3. I could totally do that in a nick of time, if some people are interested.

I think I remember a similar suggestion made to Telkostrasz some time ago and he replied that the size of the files would add too much to the addon size.

Yeah, it was me who ask him that, so I remember well. But Telkostrasz isn't here anymore, he choosed to let go of WoW.
I would be more interrested in seeing what Lixxel thinks of this thread, though she doesn't seem to be around, lately.
I should also specify that each icons on my web-site weights only 16Ko, so it's not such a big deal in size.
Most importantly, Telkostrasz ignored the main thought of what I'm proposing (or didn't had the imagination to see how it could work) : to put my icons in an optionnal package, a sub-addon, something that you could use or not, independantly of TRP2.
This is something that should already be in TRP, because let's be honest, very few people are using the most hardcore functions of TRP2, so if they don't want to deal with the inventory, it should be in a separate sub-addon, IMHO.
Anyway, what I'm originally suggesting on this thread, I'm sure most people would use it, to better represent their characters, auras and items.
Also, I'm obviously not asking to put all the icons from my web-site, just a few of them : they would be picked/made specifically for TRP2.
Plus, there could be different packages to make things even lighter : character icons, spell icons, item icons, etc.

Hello there.
I do agree that the seal icon is confusing. I like your icons. Unfortunately as mentioned above, including all of them would dramatically increase the size of the addon (not only on the hard drive, but on the RAM too).
But I really like that one :. Can I use it for future versions?

Of course you can. That would be my pleasure.
And as I was suggesting, you could add into TRP2 only a handfull of icons I propose. Of course, the whole lot would be insane.
But did you look in my list at "Lettres", "Livres" or "Notes" ?

Je viens de réaliser que ce serait peut être plus simple de se parler en français x)
J'ai regardé à peu près tous tes icônes, et j'aime beaucoup l'idée d'avoir plusieurs déclinaison de couleurs pour un objet. Je vais regarder si inclure quelques icônes en plus est envisageable ou alourdi trop l'addon. Dès que j'ai fini avec les corrections de bugs je vois ça, je te tiens au courant ;)

J'hésitais aussi à parler français, je pensais qu'on parlait anglais pour que d'éventuels anglophones puissent joindre la conversation.
Merci bien de prendre le temps de regarder. Si certains icônes 'manquent' à WoW de base, je me propose d'en ajouter. Comme mentionné plus haut, je pensais intégrer à ma liste un pack d'icône "unités de Warcraft 3", comme le fantassin, ou Arthas, etc. Ça pourrait être sympa pour que les avatars de joueurs.

Houla, proposer aux joueurs d'utiliser une icône d'Arthas pour leur avatar, ça me fait un peu peur x)

Bah, il y en a qui disent dans leur TRP2 qu'ils sont des dragons, d'autres qui utilisent des portraits de boss, alors s'ils veulent dire qu'ils ressemblent à des beaux gosses blonds, j'ai envie de dire, why not?
Mais ouais, je pensais surtout aux autres icônes. Fantassin, fusillier, grunt, archer, etc. J'ai récupérer les plus jolis (ceux qui n'étaient pas des screenshots du modèle 3D de l'unité format icône) et je m'en suis fais une petite liste. Je ferais une update quand ça serait sur mon site, et tu verras si ça t'intéresse.

Un autre truc que je viens de bidouiller, tant que j'y étais. J'avais moi-même fais quelques états "parfum : ......." avec TRP2, et j'ai encore vu récemment quelqu'un qui en avait un similaire (mis-à-part le fait que c'était pas conforme, comme état, parce que mention du nom du personnage dans la description de l'état), et je me suis dis que ça serait bien si par défaut, on avait une liste d'objets "flacon de parfum : rose" et autres, qui une fois utilisés, appliquent un état équivalent "parfumé : rose". Ça serait chouette, non?
À cette fin, voilà un autre pack d'icône adaptés du flacon de parfum qu'on peut récupérer en Archéologie elfe de la nuit (si je ne me trompe pas). Je viens de faire un ajout sur mon site qui pourrait plaire.
On m'a fait remarquer que les icônes en BLP étaient 4 fois plus légers que les icônes en TGA. Si un pack d'icônes devait être intégré à TRP2, je pourrais m'arranger pour les convertir en BLP rapidement, pour peu qu'on me le demande ici.
Par exemple, le pack d'icônes d'unités de Warcraft 3 est désormais disponible aussi en BLP (99Ko en BLP au lieu de 165Ko en TGA, c'est le progrès, ça!), avec quelques icônes en plus. Le pack d'icônes de flacons de parfum a aussi été intégré en version BLP.
Et bien évidemment, les deux icônes de TRP2 en version BLP (t'y clique gauche dissus poul téléchalger!) :

Je continue de regarder tes créations avec intérêt. Effectivement, les version .blp sont vraiment moins lourde, et elles peuvent être utilisées directement. Je vais regarder dans les jours qui viennent ce qui peut être intégré. Dans l'idéal, il faudrait que l'addon n'atteigne pas les 10Mo. Il faut prendre en compte que chaque icône en plus est une icône à mettre en RAM pour le jeu.
J'ai profité de la prise en main du forum pour utiliser deux de tes icônes pour les icônes du forum. J'espère que ça ne te dérange pas, sinon je change

Aucun soucis pour le forum. Les gens peuvent faire ce qu'ils veulent avec ce que je propose sur mon site, tant qu'ils se font pas de l'argent avec et qu'ils oublient pas de dire un tout p'tit merci derrière.
Si tu veux, j'ai plus de trucs pour personnaliser des forums, comme une liste de smilies carrément plus sympa que celle par défaut.
Jete-donc un œil à mon forum pour voir comment je l'ai personnalisé.
Pour les icônes dans l'addon, tu fais les tests, et après, on pourra voir ce qui peut éventuellement servir.
